Why Should You Buy From A Licensed and InsuredPlumbing Contractor?

Warranty

Plumbing contractors warranty their material and workmanship for a period of time after the installation.

However, if your plumber does not furnish the materials used, (such as toilets, sink, faucets and shower valves), he obviously CANNOT warranty them.  Every fixture or faucet defect would result in a labor charge for the repairs and the customer would be responsible for returning the defective item to their supplier.

Who's Responsible

No matter how extensive the quality control is, once in a while, there will be a defective product sold.  A leaking fixture can cause a great deal of damage.  When this happens, who is liable?  The Purchaser?  The Supplier?  The Manufacturer?  The Plumbing Contractor?  If your plumbing contractor furnished and installed the product, he would accept full responsibility.  If he only installed it, he would not.

Delivery

When a consumer purchases direct from a supplier, the plumbing contractor has no control or responsibility in regards to the delivery of these fixtures or faucets.  It is the responsibility of the purchaser to be sure these items are delivered when and where they are needed.

Standard practice for suppliers is to furnish "tailgate delivery".  This means the fixtures will be delivered to the job and set off the back of the truck.  It is then the responsibility of the purchaser to move the fixtures where they belong.
